Scoundrels ft. Dave Brogan, Chip Jenkins, Jasper Groff, David Mealy and Dave Meservy
Scoundrels is a band of like-minded veterans from the Utah scene that have come together to broaden the minds of music lovers everywhere by giving some of the best songs of the 70s, 80s and 90s a “millennial makeover”

The group is comprised of members of Utah’s most popular bands. Jasper Groff (guitar) and David Mealy (bass) are founding members of the well-established Moab boogie-rock outfit Stonefed. Dave Meservy (keys), currently residing in Boulder, used to hit the skins in Wisebird before switching to keyboards. Chip Jenkins (Guitar) and Dave Brogan (drums) hail from the local phenom Mokie, based in Salt Lake City.

Brogan describes the mission of the group this way: “The main concept is to try to unearth songs from the past that haven’t received enough attention. We kind of feel like the 70s has been picked over pretty good. There is a lot of great material from the 80s and 90s that people have forgotten about. We try to take those tunes and reinterpret them for the dance floor.”

The band isn’t just covers. Brogan, Meservy and Groff have brought originals to the table, as well. Many of Brogan’s compositions are also featured in his other band, ALO. Meservy is a key songwriter in Wisebird.

Whatever song the band chooses to tackle, the performance always rests on the solid foundations of improvisation, groove and fun. From there Scoundrels’ nightly objective is to hit the thrusters and achieve lift-off, ensuring that each and every member of the audience has a smile on their face as they launch into space.
